Membership Terms and Conditions

​

1. Purpose of the Network

The European Wireworm Research Network (EWRN) is an international, non-profit scientific and technical network aimed at promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and research on wireworms and related soil pests. Membership provides access to specific services, resources, and collaborative opportunities as defined by the Network.

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to:

​

  • Researchers and academics

  • Technical institutes and advisory bodies

  • Companies, producer organisations, and professional stakeholders

  • Public institutions and regulatory bodies

Membership is granted upon completion of the online registration process and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

​​

3. Membership Categories

Different categories of membership may be offered (e.g. individual, institutional, student, corporate).
The applicable membership category, scope of access, and annual fee are specified on the registration page at the time of subscription.

4. Membership Fee and Payment Terms

​

4.1 Membership Fee

Membership is subject to the payment of an annual fee, the amount of which is clearly indicated on the EWRN website at the time of registration.

The membership fee covers a fixed annual period and is non-refundable, except where mandatory legal provisions apply.

4.2 Payment Modalities

Payment shall be made:

  • Online via the payment methods available on the website, or

  • By bank transfer, where expressly authorised by EWRN

​

An invoice will be issued upon confirmation of registration or upon request.

​

4.3 Payment Deadline

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Membership fees are payable within thirty (30) days from the date of invoice issuance.

  • Membership rights and access to restricted content become effective only after full payment has been received.

4.4 Late Payment

In the event of late payment:

  • Statutory late payment interest may apply, in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • For professional members, a fixed recovery fee of EUR 40 may be charged, where permitted by law.

  • EWRN reserves the right to suspend access to member-only services until payment is regularised.

5. Duration and Renewal

Membership is granted until 31 December of the current year.

Unless otherwise stated, membership does not renew automatically. Renewal conditions and fees are communicated prior to the end of the membership period.

6. Rights and Obligations of Members

Members are entitled to:

  • Access restricted content on the EWRN website

  • Participate in EWRN meetings, workshops, and activities (subject to availability)

  • Receive network communications and publications

Members agree to:

  • Use EWRN resources for professional, scientific, or educational purposes only

  • Respect confidentiality obligations related to shared data, documents, or discussions

  • Refrain from any use that could harm the reputation or objectives of the Network

​​

7. Intellectual Property

All content made available by EWRN (documents, databases, presentations, logos, trademarks) remains the exclusive property of EWRN or its contributors.

No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

8. Data Protection

Personal data collected during registration and membership management are processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Members have the right to access, rectify, and request deletion of their personal data by contacting EWRN.

9. Suspension and Termination

EWRN reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership, without refund, in the event of:

  • Non-payment of fees

  • Breach of these Terms and Conditions

  • Misuse of EWRN resources or confidential information

Members may terminate their membership at any time by written notice. Termination does not give rise to any refund.

10. Limitation of Liability

EWRN shall not be held liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of its services or participation in network activities.

The Network does not guarantee specific outcomes or results from participation.

11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law applicable in the country of establishment of the Network.

For members established in France or the European Union, mandatory provisions of French and EU law relating to payment terms and contractual obligations shall apply where relevant.

12. Amendments

EWRN reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be informed of any significant changes via the website or by email.

13. Acceptance

By registering as a member and completing the payment process, the applicant acknowledges having read, understood, and accepted these Membership Terms and Conditions without reservation.
